Pricing and editions

How much does Crimson Moon cost?

  • $19.99 USD Standard
  • $29.99 USD Deluxe (adds Ceremonial Armor Set, Axe of the Gods weapon cosmetic, and post-launch expansion access)
  • Per the TechPowerUp launch article ↗.

    What's in the Deluxe Edition?

  • Ceremonial Armor Set (cosmetic)
  • Axe of the Gods — guitar-shaped weapon cosmetic
  • Post-launch expansion (date TBD, included free)
  • See [Platforms & Editions guide](/guides/platforms/) for more.

    Platforms

What platforms is Crimson Moon on?

PC (Steam + Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S. All four launched on September 1, 2026.

See [Platforms guide](/guides/platforms/) for direct buy links.

Is Crimson Moon on Game Pass?

Not officially announced as day-one Game Pass. Xbox store page is the canonical source — check there.

    Is there cross-play between platforms?

Not officially confirmed. Co-op works on the same platform. To play with a friend, buy on the same platform.

Does PS5 Pro get any special features?

Yes — per the PS Blog August 2026 post ↗, PS5 Pro gets upgraded PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution) for sharper output.

    Gameplay

Can I play solo or do I need a friend?

Solo is fully supported. Two-player online co-op is optional. Per the Steam store page ↗ and the official genre description: "venture through Gildenarch solo or with a friend."

Most positive launch-day Steam reviews come from co-op players, but solo is the intended experience for some (the difficulty scales per the PS Blog Feb 2026 ↗).

    How long is a run?

The wiki doesn't have a confirmed official number. The Seasoned Gaming hands-on noted 5 missions per run (4 enemy zones + 1 boss zone), but real run times vary by skill and Ward selection.

What's the goal? Is there an ending?

The PS Blog post describes a story-progression loop where the War Table "unveils new quests and escalating threats shaped by the Infernal Legion's advance" — so there is a campaign with story beats. Whether there's a true ending has not been officially confirmed.

Can I rebind keys / change mouse sensitivity / adjust FoV?

At launch: No. This is the #1 complaint in Steam reviews (17+ reviews citing missing keybinding rebinding, 6+ on missing mouse sensitivity, 3+ on missing FoV slider, 1+ on missing ultrawide support). The developers have publicly acknowledged this on Discord and a post-launch patch is in preparation.

See [Community Sentiment](/community/community-sentiment/) for the full breakdown.

    Is there controller support?

Yes — preset keyboard layouts for keyboard users, and full controller support (the game was designed for both).

    Mechanics

    What are Boons?

Boons are modifiers attached to gear that change how you fight — increase damage, debuff enemies, restore health, regenerate flasks, reward aggressive play. Per the [How Builds Work dev post](/guides/how-builds-work/).

    What are Nexus Gates?

Mid-run decision points where you choose between temporary Boons that last for the rest of the run. You encounter multiple Nexus Gates per hunt, letting your build evolve as you go. Per the same dev post.

    What does Purify do?

After a successful run, you can Purify equipment you discovered — permanently adding those weapons, armour, and trinkets to your collection for future runs. Per the [How Runs Work dev post](/guides/how-runs-work/).

    What are Angels?

Companions you choose before each hunt. Each Angel adds another powerful tool to your build. Specific Angel names are not yet in any official source.

    Lore

    What's an Infernal Legion?

The official name (per PS Blog Feb 2026 ↗) for the demonic force that invaded Gildenarch. Composed of demons, undead, vampires, and Hellgrowth.

    What's a Nephilim?

You. A Nephilim is a half-human, half-angel hybrid sworn to defend Gildenarch. Per the Steam launch description ↗.

    What are Dead Gods?

The end-of-Ward bosses. Per the PS Blog Feb 2026 ↗: "confront the Dead Gods, and restore humanity's last stronghold." Specific Dead God names are not yet public.

What is the Order of the Crimson Moon?

The player faction — humanity's last defenders of Gildenarch, founded by Gallant. See [Order of the Crimson Moon](/community/order-of-the-crimson-moon/).

    Tech

What are the PC system requirements?

    See [System Requirements](/guides/system-requirements/).

    Is there a cloud-save or cross-progression?

Not confirmed at launch. Save data is platform-locked (Steam cloud saves within Steam; Xbox / PSN save data within their ecosystem).

    Are there microtransactions?

Not at launch. Confirmed by the absence of any mention in the Crimson Moon Launch Announcement ↗ or TechPowerUp launch article ↗. Deluxe Edition's post-launch expansion is included free, not a separate purchase.
