What this means

No VR support at launch — Crimson Moon is a flat-screen game.

50 GB of disk space — a substantial install, mostly from the high-resolution textures and cutscenes.

32 GB RAM for recommended — this is on the higher end. Many 2026 indie/AA games run on 16 GB. The 32 GB recommendation suggests Crimson Moon's later Wards are heavy.

No Windows 10 — Windows 11 only. Steam's spec sheet says so explicitly.

DirectX 12 required — not optional. Older GPUs without DX12 won't run it.

Will my laptop run it?

Quick check:

Released 2018+ with i5/Ryzen 5: probably minimum tier, will run at 1080p low-medium

Released 2020+ with i7/Ryzen 5 5600X-class: recommended tier, should hit 60+ FPS at 1080p high

Gaming laptops with RTX 3070 / RX 6700 XT: recommended tier confirmed

Anything older than 2017: probably won't meet minimums

For Intel Arc A580 / A770 users: Crimson Moon is one of the first AA games that explicitly supports Arc at both tiers.

Steam Deck

Not officially validated by Valve. The minimum specs (GTX 1070 / RX 5700 / i5-8400 / 16 GB) exceed the Steam Deck's Zen 2 / Van Gogh APU. Crimson Moon likely won't run well on Steam Deck — verify on ProtonDB before buying for that device.
